The highest tides of the year are occurring this November, December, and January. The first king tides dates are November 24, 25, 26. King tides can be a foot higher than the average high tide and give a glimpse of what is at risk with an additional foot of sea level rise. You can help the Sea Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment Team by taking photos of the San Mateo County shoreline during high tides and storms this winter (being safe, of course!) and posting to the California King Tides page.
